Barry first learnt massage in 1979 and has been in clinical practice since 1990. Extensively trained in body therapies he specialises at in Spironics, Therapeutic Massage, Myofascial release, TMJ release and Fascial Kinetics, a Bowen Therapy. From 1993 to 2016 he lectured in massage therapy and Anatomy & Physiology. (Wellpark College, the New Zealand College of Massage & the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy)
Barry was the Principal of the Fascial Kinetics school of Bowen Therapy 2014 to 2018 with instructors in Australasia. He taught Fascial Kinetics for six years and provides advanced lectures in Bowen technique.
He massaged on-site in the corporate sector since 1997 plus taught & mentored workplace massage from 1998 to 2012. He is a past president of Massage New Zealand in 2006/7.
